Somehow, the answer doesn't feel complete. Even though the vast majority of the time they've spent together in the past couple of weeks has been exhilarating, Jungkook isn't quite naive enough to assume that he's enough of a salve for all of the pain Yoongi might feel. More to the point, he doesn't feel capable enough to be that, either. Couldn't be, if moments like this, with Yoongi retreating deep into that gaze, his words quiet and distant, are already enough to make fear settle in Jungkook's chest.
He's afraid that he won't understand in time. That something might strike when they least expect it. It's a feeling that extends to the whole of their group, but with Yoongi, sometimes it feels achingly close a pin positioned right against the heart, easily hidden, all too sharp.
"I'm not going anywhere," he says, still tracing circles over Yoongi's skin, not yet reaching for his hand, though the temptation is there. "When you... even if you don't know what you need, do you know anything that helps?"
