Yoongi draws back a little so he can reach for Jungkook's hand, shaking his head. "I hope not," he says. He wouldn't consider himself a pessimist so much as a realist. Realistically, he has no idea how long it will take. They have a long way to go, he thinks, before acceptance is more wide-spread, enough to allow for same-sex marriages. Whether that means a few years or a decade or more, he can't be sure. If anything, he wonders if maybe the spread of gay marriage in other countries will pressure theirs into feeling they have to follow suit, but he's not sure that's really how politics works.

"When more of our generation gets into office," he says, "things will change." Maybe. He's been teased enough by other boys who thought he might be gay to question whether or not that's entirely true. Being able to silence them in a fight doesn't mean he changed their minds any. He glances sidelong at Jungkook and smiles. "I don't know if you'd like being in politics very much."
