Yoongi bites back another laugh at the mental image of himself, lovesick over some girl he only ever saw in a coffee shop. It's not impossible. It does happen in dramas and he's sure it happens in real life sometimes, too. It just isn't very him. Still, he gets it. Anything seems more likely than requited love when you're in the midst of pining.

Which is exactly what they were doing, pining, like a pair of idiots. The whole thing is funny to him now, but at the time, it was utter agony.

"I wish we hadn't had to feel like that," he says, "but I'm glad that we're friends first." No matter how close he is to the others, he already thought of Jungkook as his best friend, and dating hasn't changed that. It's reassuring to know he loves someone who has his back and loves him just as he is. He pulls a face then. "Every now and then, I wondered if I had any hope at all. And then I felt bad for even thinking it. Like I was lying to you."
