It doesn't feel like a burden, Jungkook thinks, to watch over Yoongi in the way that he does. Part of it is because Jungkook's grown into the habit of looking after the people he loves most — to check up on them, to see how they're faring emotionally, because even if Jungkook doesn't know how to solve a problem, he'd rather know that it's there. But part of it also stems from feeling like he operates on the same level as Yoongi, that there's something kindred between them that ties them together. Even on tough days, Jungkook would rather spend that time with Yoongi, feeling their halves come together to make a cohesive whole.

Maybe patience still plays a role, but Jungkook shakes his head at Yoongi's thanks. "I'm exactly where I want to be when I'm by your side," Jungkook insists, tilting his head until he's able to press another kiss to Yoongi's forehead, fingers gently brushing his hair out of the way. "If anything, I should thank you for letting me stay by your side. Even when it isn't easy."

He ducks his head with a small grin, fingers nudging at Yoongi's cheek. "But this weekend should be super easy, right? Our first vacation away together."
